i used to work at jc penney's [shudder] and the cleanup crew put tennis balls on the end of sticks to rub out black scuff marks from the floors.  they worked really well, and were kind fun to use.  sometimes we'd beg the crew to let us borrow the scuff-removers, and then we'd run around after close trying to scuff everything up so we could use them.  ^^
