How do you like the patons classic merino wool?  I have some, and I feel like it's too itchy to make a hat out of.  Does it get softer with blocking?

Did you use a worsted weight yarn?

I really really really would love to have Interweave Knits Spring 2007 for those Eunny Chang entrelac socks. . . Does anyone want to swap for it?! I have yarn, I can sew, embroider, knit.

I'm glad you like the hats!  I love these two patterns because they aren't difficult and the results are stunning enough to stop any non-knitter in her tracks!  Wink

The Classic Merino softens up quite a bit after blocking.  I use a spoonful of Euculan and it makes a huge difference in the way the yarn feels.  I have really short hair so hats always rub against the back of my neck and I don't find it itchy at all after it's been washed.

Did you use a worsted weight yarn?

Yes, Paton's Classic Merino is a worsted weight yarn.

Mistake?  No... it's an Unexpected Design Element.  I put it there on purpose.  *ahem*
