i just started the cold shoulders a few night ago and somehow when i finished the first row of shells i came out 2 shells short. i have no idea how this happened since i counted all the time....does anyone have any idea or had similar problems? any help is appreciated...

life would be an altogether supreme experience if i had a colored pencil long enough to draw on the ceiling

Are you skipping 6 stitches between each shell? I initially skipped 6 stitches and ended up short too. Then I switched to skipping 5 stitches and it came up fine.

At least that's what I remember.

hmm someone should tell that to the author and have it put in the errata. i did skip 6 stitches like the book said. and i actually finished it that way too. only have the collar left to do...we'll see how it turn out. thanks!

 Undecided I had the exact same problem, short two shells. . .I'll try the skip 5 st and see how it comes out. Thanks!

Did you make the shells in between stitches?  It should be in between the 6th st and the next st.  Did you make the half shells on each end?  That could be it, or it could be a typo.  I'm working on that right now, and it's coming out fine for me.  Hope this helps

I just did this pattern and ran into the same problem.  What really helped me was referring to the graph/stitch guide provided rather than the instructions.  After that issue was solved it was smooth sailing.

I havent recieved my book yet so i dont know what the pattern says specifically BUT i noticed that some patterns can be a little unclear like for example if you say skip 4 dcs, they could mean the DCs themselves or the space in between. So maybe it's 5 spaces in between which equal 6 stitches. I hope that made sense lol
