My baby sister is getting married in August '07 and I would like to throw her a sort of outdoorsy/mountain-themed bridal shower because we live in Colorado and she and her fiancee are into rock climbing and that kind of thing.  But, she's also very much a girly-girl (go figure) so I'd like to incorporate some of the more traditional flowery shower stuff, if that makes sense.

I was thinking maybe a wildflowers/picnic/vintage outdoor kind of thing, but I don't want it to get too convoluted.  Any ideas for food/favors/decorations, and most of all, streamlining the theme?  So far the only real idea I have is a three-tiered cake decorated to look like a mountain, (luckily our sister-in-law is a cake decorator!) with rock candy and edible flowers and such, and maybe cute figurines at the top that look my sister and her intended (not a bride-and-groom, per se, more like dollhouse dolls in casual clothes).  Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Update: the wedding could possibly be moved to January '08 due to college stuff.  So I have plenty of time to plan, but would still appreciate any ideas, especially if the shower ends up taking place in the dead of winter.   Angry

I'm trying to plan for a picnic themed wedding in the fall.  Hopefully we'll both start hearing some good ideas, soon!
