This is my entry for the one stitch to rule them all (being modeled by my sister.)

The Mardi Gras Scarf has random stripes over the garter stitch. Very random. I actually rolled a die to determine the stripes. I assigned numbers to each of the three skeins of yarn. Then I rolled once to determine to color, and again to determine the number of rows in that color.

I thought it was interesting because the stripes have no regard for the lace pattern. (Not that stripes have any regard for anything.)

I used Dancing Fibers Serendipity. It was on sale at my LYS. The colors were limited, and I decided these worked together. It wasn't until I took it to my knitting group that I realized it was Mardi Gras colors, thus the name. It's an Alpaca/Wool blend.

I debated whether or not to block it before I decided to to leave it as it is.

That yarn looks luscious, and I love the way the lace sort of wars with the colored stripes.

That is rather cool! I like the die method of choosing the stripes.

No problem. It's a big board. It's easy to lose your place.
