After repeated nagging from my youngest 2, I gave in today and made them both bags for their basketballs. They have been playing for nearly 2 years and were given club balls as an end of season pressie so want to look after them.

I used a basic drawstring style bag and just shaped the bottom using a dinner plate. I machine embroidered the designs - 36ers are our NBL team here in Adelaide.

Very nice bags!  Neat shape and the embroidery is excellent!

Crocheting is like prostitution.  First you do it for love, and then for a few close friends, and then for money.  Maybe that is why they call us Hookers?

Nice work on the bags.  Great to see another fellow Aussie.  I'm a basketball fan myself (used to support Sydney Kings - yes, the great Violet Crumbles  Tongue but now I just enjoy watching a great game).  We have a swap going at the moment - https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=145547.0.  Feel free to join in on the next one  Wink
Do you need a cute purse to go with that outfit?

Those are cute bags.  I really like the embroidery.  I got a new embroidery machine for Christmas and I have yet to figure it out.  This makes me want to try again on the embroidery stuff.

I'm interested in personal swaps -- I love bracelets & necklaces and I don't know how to make them.

These bags are both so adorable and functional, too!!  Yay for that!
I actually returned one of my husband's christmas gifts to me so that I could go buy an embroidery machine.  But, sadly, that hasn't happened just yet and it may not for a while since we just bought a van   Cry (not sad about the van, just about the machine!)  Oh well, I'll just be happy to look at everyone else's great embroidering!  Cheesy

Really wonderful bags!  I'm sure your kids love them!  Smiley

Thanks everyone.

-Will keep my eye out for the next aussie swap, I had a look at some of the items currently on offer and they are so adorable.

-The pom pom bag sounds like so much fun, would love to see it when finished.

-Embroidery machines are very addictive, I embroider just about everything I can get my hands on.
