microscope slide necklace.  What do you think?  I got this kit from xladyluckx in the ows 17 so I will get to keep playing!

I know the soldering is kinda crappy, but practice makes perfect and this was my very first ever time.

Pretty soon, your soldering will be fabulous.

I find that a lot of people try the drag method of soldering...hold the solder coil and pull it with the tip of the iron.

What I used to teach to students is to take a piece of solder onto the tip of the iron, and holding the iron like a pencil, draw the bead of solder along the edge.  Gives a nice flat bead of solder.  You won't get all the way along the edge, but go as far as you can, then pick it up again.

And only go over it once, otherwise it loses its shine.

I prefer Gleem silver bearing solder, but any 6% silver bearing solder gives a great result.

Solder on!!!

Thank you for the input.  It was fun and I can't wait to practice some more.  Smiley
