Here I go responding to my own post again..
Here is what I got from ptarmic wampus!

included is:
-a cute box decoupaged with tons of kitchy pictures of food and recipes from old cooking magazines, filled with yummy yummy recipes!
-a cute note with puppy dogs on it
-a beautiful felted flower [felting is on my list of things to learn to do!]
-and a book about Asian supermarkets! I had asked for a partner who could give me Asian recipes, and I got the best partner ever! I'm moving to San Francisco in a few months and part of the reason why is because of my Asian food addiction (how weird is that?) So this book tells me how to navigate the market, what to make out of the foods, the best brands and even some recipes! So I'm totally set!

oh, and here's one of the recipes she sent me that I'll be trying out very soon:

Chinese greens in oyster sauce
Great with Asian greens such as choy sum, Chinese broccoli, or shanghai bok choy.

2 tbsp. oyster sauce
2 tbsp chicken broth
1 tbsp rice wine
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 lb greens
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp peanut oil

Combine oyster sauce, broth, rice wine, sugar and sesame oil in a small pan, boil to dissolve sugar. Set aside. Wash and trim greens and cut into 3" lengths if desired. Boil a large pot of water with salt and peanut oil, add greens and roboil. Turn off hear and let stand until greens turn bright green and are crisp-tender. Drain and serve with sauce.

I'm working on getting my blog up, check it out! Smiley

I am about to cry, I have all of my recipes saved on my computer, and I just went to open the document and it won't open.  I don't know what's wrong.

The "greens in oyster sauce" should also work with broccoli rabe....I actually have some gai lan with the sauce in the fridge right now, as there was miraculously decent produce at the only small local mart this week. The produce here (Denver) is usually pretty awful, I have resorted to growing my own at the community garden. SF will have fantastic produce in comparison - I've been to 99 Ranch, which I think has several stores in the greater SF region, although maybe not in the city proper....

I still think it's crazy that people have already sent. Probably doesn't help that I just got a new cook book devoted to my partner's wishes, and just had to try a recipe out tonight...

I received my great swap package from GatsbyGirl over the weekend!

She sent me a Rachel Ray cookbook (365 recipes!!), and a very awesome recipe book with a cute embroidered tomato on the front!  And some Hershey's Kisses for one of the recipes!

Here's a picture with the book open. She says all the decorations for the pages are from paint chips with food names.  Smiley   I thought that was an awesome touch (and I didn't know there were so many).

Thanks so much, GatsbyGirl!  I'll have to expand the kids' taste bud horizons.  Grin

(And yes, I'm nowhere near sending.  If I had to mail out tomorrow, it would be a very poor package with some great recipes.  Wink  )

Where did all this fabric come from? I CAN'T have bought THAT much!

It says this file cannot be opened either because it is already in use by another program, it needs to be converted into a different file type, or the file is corrupt.

It is saved in Microsoft Works Word Processor.

I'm guessing it is corrupt.

** I've managed to relocate maybe 50% of my recipes but of course the one that I REALLY wanted to include, I can't find it ANYWHERE.
