I'm about to start  the chrysanthemum tea shawl from the book "Amazing Crochet Lace"

The shawl is featured on the cover of the book..
It takes 7 hanks of Classic Elite "Premiere" at 108yds/99m per hank..

Anyone else thinking about making this and want to join me..(^_^)

I'm on a yarn diet so I'm using some kool-aid dyed yarn from my stash 100% wool.. hopefully this will work out..It might not be as drapy but hopefully just as pretty..

this shawl is moving right along..I'm at the 1/2 mark.. but every row increases stitches so its taking longer and longer to crochet a round. The second half is going to take a bit longer to finish.. on the last round there are 840 single crochet .. 0.0..!!!

more info on my blog (^_^)

I've made some progress on the shawl.. I posted the pictures on my blog..  I had planned to make the last border rounds a solid color but when I started the border it didn't look right so... I have to buy one more skein of yarn and dye it in order to finish the last 3 rounds..  Cry

The colours look awesome! Silly question but I don't get what a 'tea shawl' is though, is it something you wear or is it a table setting?

Re the name:

There IS a chrysanthemum tea, and it is brewed from the flower and green tea.  You put it in the pot and it unfurls as it brews.  The shawl almost looks like the open flower, and she did the original in that soft tea green color... so it's not really a tea shawl, but maybe a reference to the chrysanthemum tea itself -- the shawl reminded her of the tea?
