Hi all,
Ok, the only logical answer to this may be "Do something easier," but I started knitting over the summer and have since made 3 scarves (and a crocheted hat... but that's another story) and I really really really want to try knitting my brother (gameboy geek) a gameboy case with, if possible, pacman or a 1-UP mushroom on it. Yes, I have never knit pictures before (intarsia?), and yes, I may fail miserably. But i will try, darnit, and I need your help. How would I go about any of this?
Thank you very lots.

Do you have a copy of stitch and bitch?  If not I really recommend it, intarsia is suprisingly easy using my snb it was one of the first things I learned Wink

Honestly my best  advice is just go for it! thats the best way to learn. My sister tried to make me do a garter stitch scarf but i went ahead and learned purl after knowing how to knit for less than a week lol

Im pretty sure theres a pac man pattern on the boards some where, not sure about the mushroom but if you canbt find one it should still be easy to make

PS. I taught myself how to cable a month ago and it was oh so easy Ive developed a new recklessness about knitting LOL

Well, you could always embroider the logo onto the finished gameboy case.
I've knitted for a loooooong time and all sorts of things big and little. But I haven't done any "colorwork"...too lazy I guess! I would just embroider the pac man on and call it good.  Grin

if you want to do a Pacman, I'd look at this thread:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=11377.0 - there's a chart for a Pacman and Ghost that you can do intarsia-style.  good luck!
