Ok, so here's my plan... I think... I think I'm going to add two pockets, with military style buttons to keep the crap from spilling out when he throws it in the back of his car. And then maybe had some military/usa applique to front or back (thinking of putting pockets on the sides). That might make it manly enough for him, or at least manly enough and with enough crap he likes on it so he'll carry it. :p

if hes into the military... they have iron on patches of pin-up girls with airplanes and all sort of things like that. I would add one of two of these to man it up a little bit plus the buttons and all the other good stuff you are adding. Your dad is super lucky. lol. Well good luck and post pictures of your finished project please!

I think that if it was longer it would appear more "tote-like" and less purse like.

I think if you added a flag applique on it or something to make it more American Militaryish. Its an awsome bag but to me with just the designs it may come off as a little bit feminine. Maybe if you could put a navy ship or seal or whatever he likes. Or an eagle. I don't know.

I like my coffee black just like my metal.

I think its great as it is, it looks more nautical plain.

there are things you could do to try to change it but I think then you risk making it too fussy.

Good job

Thank ya! I've looked at a few places but haven't seen any patches I like, so I'm still kind of hung up on it. My luck he'll be here before I finish it. :p

I'd go with the military buttons around the handles, and maybe paint on a few white stars for it, or if you can get a seal that would work great. any of those things would make it less feminine.
