Hey I'm new here. I got this site from a friend. I've only ever done knitting as a craft but recently I've been really into clothes making but have no idea how to go about it!! Does anyone have any sites or books they can recommend? It would be much appreciated. Thanks! Smiley

Check out the tutorial list in the general section
Also, look through some pattern books at your local craft/fabric store. Try one marked "easy" first. See if you can take a sewing class somewhere.

Are you entirely new to sewing or do you have some experience? If you are brand new, I would suggest practice the basics. Basic cotton, sewing straight lines. If/when you are ready for a pattern, check out "sewing for dummies" and such type patterns like thesingingllamas suggested. Read the directions all the way through before you start. That way, if something confuses you, you can get an answer before you start & having a specific question makes it easier to help.

Craft till it hurts.
