(I didn't realize Jenny had moved "The Twins" over to her Sublime Stitching board. The portrait was inspired by Jenny's portraits and it does contain her birds -- from her Tatoo Your Tea Towels pattern. She is SO incredible!)

Can you believe I finished embroidering this last fall and have not yet put up for display? (Yikes!)

The plan is to put it on a dowel and add some kind of cord and tassels. One of these days...

Right now it's neatly folded away in one of my dresser drawers. Along with some vintage embroidery made by beloved aunts who have passed on. Sigh...

Thanks for the kind feedback.

Wow, wow, wow, wow. I am in complete and total awe. I stumbled across your post (three + years later!) while I was looking for tips on embroidered portraits. I'm hoping to do one of my daughter for my mother for her birthday. Your work is just stunning, and you were so kind to include so many tips and instructions. Thank you for the inspiration and instruction! Smiley

I'm so glad you found this because I missed it too.  I am dumbfounded, awestruck, and totally jealous!  It's stunning!

I really appreciated that Carolyn posted her directions.  I have been trying to figure out the portrait thing for a long time.  I want to make a family portrait.

This is truly stunning!  You are an amazing stitcher.  I'm really even more blown away by how open you are to this new wave of embroidery style that Jenny has ignited.. It seems that most people who have been embroidering for as long as you have are set in their ways too much to try.  I'm sure Jenny is extremely proud of your work and to have inspired you.
