I think that this can be a very good look if the the shrug is either the same color as the shirt or a much brighter/lighter/louder/more eyecatching color.  For example, black on black, brown on brown, cranberry on black, lime green on navy, etc.

If the shirt in any way draws more attention than the shrug, that's a bad thing.

I have a "?" I'm a Plus sized gal with NOT very curvy TaTas and a tummy . DO you think this ( or any) Shrug would be flattering on me ?

I think that just about anything can work, as long as it fits properly and is tweaked to accentuate.  The only problem I see with the crocheted shrug is that the lower edge runs straight across in a horizontal line.  If I were making this sweater I'd make the sides a bit longer in relation to the middle (like a gentle "A" or A-line skirt).  I have HUGE ta-tas and I'll wear a shrug if it is proportioned for my body (i.e. no tiny front sections plastered up my armpits, with miles of the ties strangling my boobs).
And....Hi!...this is my first post!

I've got breasts, but I REALLY have a belly.  I had qualms about shrugs too.  I was totally wrong.  The shrug's so interesting that the belly totally disappears.  Go right ahead!  And post a picture when you're done, OK?

I have a belly and big boobs as well and I stayed away from shrugs for awhile for the same reasons, thinking that it would accent my belly too much, and I am short so thought it would accent my shortness and big belly.  But I was wrong, I do like them now, so give it a shot.

Ramen, I have the same problem. No boobs and a big belly.  I can tell you that all a shrug like that did was make me look preggo.  stick with ponchos!! I learned the hard way. Wink

I love this shrug. Be warned though - it was on the crochet boards a while ago and a lot of people had problems with the pattern.
