I finally got around to make a picture! This is what I gave my boyfriend for christmas:

I designed the illusion chart for the logo and 2tone blocks myself but had to start over again 3 times because it didn't work out the way I wanted it.
So I ran out of time and ended up knitting part of the scarf in front of him(!), hiding most of it under my arms while knitting.
He thought I was knitting a simple black/white striped scarf for a custom order (hehe....should've seen his face when he opened the package).

I'll try to make a neater chart to share, but I ended up with so many corrections of corrections that it's a bit messy now.

(edit: spelling)

Illusion knitting is just stockinette and purl stitch (if I got the english names correct now).

I started:
1 row white stockinette
back: 1 row white stockinette
1 row black stockinette
back: 1 row purl
and so on.

That's how you get stripes that will look all white, when you look from another angle.

Anyways, I got my description from Debbie Stoller's Stitch 'n Bitch book (Dutch translation).

Only problem I still can't solve (this was my second illusion scarf) is the curling of the sides. Somehow that seems unavoidable....

i have had the problem of the rolling edges on a scarf before... it helps if you lightly iron it... it rolls back up if you pull on it again, but it helps for a bit. if i were you i would try putting some sort of a border around the edges, something sturdy, like a seed stich, or maybe a ribbing. dunno if that would work but it's my best guess.

So, if you dropped a stitch, did you have to pick it up, pick it up, pick it up? Ahh, that was an awful joke.

This is the coolest illusion scarf I've seen! That's a great integration of logo and color scheme - luckily two-tone lends itself to such a simple yet bold design.  Smiley (And huzzah and kudos for your kitty charity!!)
