One pattern came from Debbie Stoller's SNBN [Cabled Newsboy Cap] and the other from the German Rebecca website [free pattern - http://www.rebecca-online.de/cont_de/anleitungen/heft_12_anl_17.pdf  - the model here wears one made of thinner yarn than I used, I think]

And bingo, a hat and shawl with sleeves to wear in our heavy Arizona winter Smiley

You can wear the shawl and tie it as you wish so I just showed the main thing without me and then a closeup of the cap and me. The shawl kinda makes me look fat so it is probably better to take extremely thin yarn and/or be a model hahaha.

Enjoy, any comments welcome.

PS. I wasn't sure how this will work out so I used cheapie Wool-Ease and it is nice and warm.

Thanks for looking!!!

Thanks! Here is the link to the translated pattern. Sorry, I used the German version and did not look for the English one Roll Eyes

Dang...now that I saw your hat, I'm going to have to put it back onto my list of projects to do.  Love the sweater-shawlie thingie too. Great job! Wink

You know you're crafting too much when you even find glitter in your cat's poop! (true story)

I love the shawl thingy. Would you be willing to post a pic with you in it?

I love both of them!  I didn't like the hat in the book but you've changed my mind.  I think I'll make a pink one just like yours, it looks great on you.
I love the shawl wrap thing.  I like those wrappy things but haven't made one yet.
Wonderful job, thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much!

As for the pic with me in the shawl I haven't yet figured out a cute way to wear it, so it might take a while... Roll Eyes

They look so pretty on you.  I especially love the wrap.  Hope you can figure out a good way to tie it.   Smiley
