I usually put mushrooms, red peppers, tomatoes and peas on my pizza. So good!

My favourite pizza's actually really simple,

- tomato sauce (tomato, onion, tomato puree, herbs, sugar, salt, garlic)
- nutritional yeast sauce (cheez sauce) ( i actually forgot the ingredients...but a quick search on the internet will tell you enough)
- crumbled veggie burger or sliced up veggie dogs/seitan
- tomatoes
- mushrooms
- fried onions

that's basically it.

I LOVE fresh tomatoes, baby spinach, water chestnuts, and alfalfa sprouts!!! Sounds weird, but it is sooooooo good; I'm starting to crave it right now!
Also, if you're making your own crust, sub about 1/4c of white wine for 1/4c of the water.

I will have to try some of these toppings!!
These are topping I just tried on my home made pizza. I made a whole wheat pizza crust, sauce made out of tomato sauce & Italian spices. Toppings include:
Slices of onions, zucchini, potato, mushrooms, green pepper, tomatoes, and instead of cheese I sprinkle wheat germ.
I saute' the slices of potatoes in olive oil first just to make sure they are tender, and I sprinkled balsamic vinegar for extra zing! It turned out great.
I have special challenges in my home, my father in-law who is elderly (we take care of him) is vegetarian, diabetic, & has high blood pressure, plus my husband is lactose intolerant! I have researched and getting pretty good at putting meals together to suit any palate!

olives and artichoke hearts. add some hot sauce to the pizza sauce. or mix up some bruchetta for the top of the pizza. onion, tomato, oregano and olives. i'm drooling Shocked

i love to roast a bulb of garlic in the oven.....slice off a little of the garlic that comes to a point, drizzle about a teaspoon of olive oil, wrap it in foil and roast it at 400 for about 12-15 minutes.  when it's cooled you can squeeze out the garlic and spread it like butter on the pizza dough before adding other toppings.  gives it a nice flavor, not overwhelmingly garlicky.  yummy!

other toppings:
caramelized onions
sun dried tomatoes
sauteed spinach
grilled eggplants
roasted peppers
marinated to whatever you want it to taste cubed tofu ie. barbecue, curry, etc. you get the point :-)
shredded soy cheese

i also like to grill the dough till golden brown before adding the toppings and then bake it in the oven.  it adds a nice smoky taste to the dough.  it also helps the dough from falling apart if you're putting on a lot of toppings.

mmm stellar monkey. all of those sounds delish. sun dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, black onions, caramelized onions and roasted peppers sounds like my absolute favorites combo. ohy!

If i'm not feeling "pizzay" or if no one else in my house is going to eat it (they're all omnis so  usually we make one big thing of dough and make three pizzas, a cheese, a vegan for me and a pepperoni) then I like to use a base of hummus and then put lots of stuff on top. Veggies and such. I lvoe pizza  Grin
