So I love this hat of Keira Knightley's:

but i can't find a pattern like it. Should I just knit a cabled beanie (with an altered gauge) and add a jersey lining with a brim? Anybody have any ideas or patterns they can suggest?

Thank you!

ps. I'm pretty good at knitting but have never tried cables, are they hard?

It looks like she's wearing two hats there, a beanie and the one underneath :-S.
And nope cables are quite easy, if you're good at knitting you shouldn't have a problem Smiley

So I should sew or find a bucket hat and knit up a  nice loose beanie? Sounds good to me.

Thanks ladies, you're awesome.  Cheesy
