so for christmas i bit off more than i could chew knitted present wise....so i only got one a couple of hats, legwarmers, a scarf and a dog sweater.....all pretty much finished right before i had to hand it over to the recipient....

first is the hat i knitted for my brother-in-law's sister...its the patons sws yarn i used for our neice's hat...she said she liked it, so i made her this

then i made these legwamers, that i've been promising my friend since may- i used patons classic, i think....

i made this hat for my boyfriend with manos del uruguay....his mom is from uruguay, so i thought hey that's neat...(i finally found a great lys and it carries manos! so omg i love this store) and i picked up a skein of a rose/blush color with intent of knitting a scarf for his mom (newly acquired boyfriend, and i want her to like me) but after knitting til 4am xmas eve and only getting 2ft done, i scrapped it and figured i'd make it later....anyways, this is the hat i made for him

and here's the scarf i knitted for my cousin...last year i knit my grandmother a scarf with chenielle, and my cuz loved it, so for lack of any ideas what to get her, i made her the scarf....even tho it is the most annoying yarn i've worked with, she loved it tho

and the sweater for my cousin's dog...i must admit i'm damn proud of myself...this was the first non hat/sweater/afghan item i've ever knitted....and it fit him perfectly

thanks for looking!

Grin you did an AMAZING job on all of those! wow i'm jealous of your cabling skills. i can't seem to figure it out. but then again, this knitting thim is pretty new to me. i just bought paton's SWS in that exact color and was wondering how you got it to stripe exactly like that? did you follow a certain pattern so you could control the striping or did you just wing it?

i'm interested in seeing your dog sweater, as I am still working on one. It was supposed to be a christmas gift for my boyfriend's mom. oops.

thanks!
i kind of did that hat last minute....christmas eve i finished up while my sis was still here so she could give it to her sister in law xmas morning....but as far as the striping goes........it just striped that way...i used the basic cable hat from the stich 'n bitch book and just made my own modifications to the pattern (ie, no ribbing on the bottom, cabled on a different row, etc...) and it striped perfectly....and let me just say, i was worried about cabling (the first cabled project i did was an afghan for my niece...) and i thought it was intimidating at first, but really, this hat took less time for me with the cables than the one with just the 3x2 ribbing did....and i love working with the sws yarn...i have some in like the blueish/brown somewhere i think.....i was going to make a hat for my boss' son, but, i might want to make something for myself....

i just added it!
i used the free pattern that came with the bernat camoflauge (sp?) yarn....i did the large size, but it was still a bit too long, her dog has a broad chest tho, so the med would have been too small

thanks!! i love the different colorways the manos del uruguay comes in...i had made my ipod cozy with this brown/bue tlc variagated yarn that he liked, but he thought the blue made it too "girly" so i leapt at this yarn when i saw it in my lys...i love it too....the pic of it laying flat on my disney cutie sheets is more indicitive of the actual colors....we showed his mom last night and i could tell she appreciated the thought i put in by using that yarn (b/c she's from uruguay) so now i really need to get on knitting her something with the other skein i picked up....

I find it so hard to find "manly" colorways!  I will have to keep that yarn in mind.  My boyfriend's favorite color is purple.  It's very hard to find manly purple yarn.

I have used SWS for several projects and it stripes up  perfectly every time.
dmoney79, your family and friends are VERY lucky.  Everything looks great
