I went on a book making binge this Christmas -- I needed relatively quick gifts, and I wanted to get some practice in.

Small concertina photo albums that can hold about eight 4"x6" photos -- these can be carried around as a book, but they also stand upright when opened out, so the photos can be displayed.  The cover papers from these two were old linocut prints on cartridge paper (I screenprinted the bird on the first one), and I also made one with chiyogami cherry blossom paper.

This is similar, but is smaller and in notebook version... I made two of these for my nephews, and screenprinted some animal illustrations on the inside covers.

Another notebook, with sewn signatures instead of a concertina layout, covered with chiyogami paper:

And finally, a large Chicago-screw-bound photo album for my mother-in-common-law, covered with cherry blossom chiyogami paper.  Her sister is dying from a rapidly degenerative form of motor neurone disease, so we wanted to give her something special.  My partner took really nice photos of everyone in the family, and we put them all in the album.

Wow!  Those are fantastic!  I really need to learn how to bind... every time I see a journal here I want to make one!  I'm all about folding, though.  Wink
