So I was going to buy a nicer handmade one, but I figured why waste my money when I have some slightly above basic sewing skills and some nice vintage kimono scraps? I just had to buy some felt squares and snaps for this. I absolutely love the fabric, it's one of my treasures haha. I didn't think well enough to make it so that there aren't raw edges around some parts of the fabric, but it shouldn't fray too insanely because I used the zigzag stitch on the sewing machine. I might actually do an embroidery stitch by hand with red silk floss to further keep it from fraying, but I couldn't figure out how to thread a small headed needle with it. Here are some pictures:

but since my kids friends have seen the ones my kids have they traded me yardwork in exchange for covers for the christmas nanos they got. ( I am evil rather then give them free covers I make them mow my lawn and rake muaaaahh )

I got the kimono fabric from a Japanese gift shop in Cambridge mass that sells vintage kimonos and cuts them up and sells the fabric when no one buys the kimonos
