This is my first posted craft... hopefully I get the pic in right!

I made bath sea salts (Martha Stewart's recipe) with peppermint oil. I dyed about 2/3 of the sea salt batch with red food coloring and left the remaining 1/3 white. Layered the colors into containers I bought at Hobby Lobby and put a sticker on them that I designed in Word.

Hard to tell by the pics, but the colored salts are kind of a pink shade. The red food coloring left some of the salt grains red, which I like. Kinda makes it look like tiny pieces of peppermint candy canes.

could you post a link to the recipie please!

Here's the recipe I used - enjoy!

SUPPLIES:
 3/4 cup Epsom salt
 1/4 cup Baking soda
1 1/2 cups coarse Sea salt
 10 drops of essential oils
23 drops of vegetable food coloring

HOW TO MAKE:
In a large bowl, combine salts and baking soda. Add food coloring and desired scents. Stir mixture together. The drops of food coloring will break up and distribute throughout the salt. The food coloring will not stain your bathtub.

thanks for that! I've been after a recipie for awhile now! I did try and make them using rock salt and food colouring but the salt dissolved. It's always good to have a recipie! Cheesy thanking you!

That could work for Valentine's Day gifts, too.  Maybe switch to a different scent, although peppermint would be nice in the bath.

Have you tried the bath salts yet?  I've never used them so I have no idea what they are supposed to do and how well they do it.
