Your basic boring IKEA computer chair...

Girlie version!!!

Different fabric underneath for, well, something different.

How'd I do?

My cat's breath smells like cat food.

Me like!  The contrasty fabric on the bottom is a really lovely touch, too.

So was it a real pain to do?  I have the exact same Ikea chair (except in white plastic with hot pink fabric), and I've been dying to redo it.  I even have pretty tapestry fabric in green and gold.

I've kind of been putting it off for a while because it seemed like a big undertaking, but my cat's been using the chair as a chew toy and it's looking a bit ratty... so I guess it's now or never. Smiley  So any hints, tips, tricks, whatever you're willing to share would be ever so appreciated!

I like that! We so need one of those, our chair, while awesome bright sparkly red vinyl, is falling apart.

That looks awesome, I'd never thought of attacking my chair...

Hmmm.... *dangerous crafty glint in eye as she thinks about what she can do to prettify it*

Wow, Thanks so much for all the nice replies!

Polkaroo it was actually easier then I thought it would be. After you screw off the little adjuster knobby on the back the plastic pops right off (give it a pretty good tug though) the plastic used isn't really ridged so it didn't break. and then the base just screws off.
Recover & reassemble. I had to spray mine white so you're already 1/2 way there. Good luck. Post pics when you're finished!
