My sewing machine was getting a bit dusty...and my friend wanted to give her friend a purse for Christmas so this was my project last weekend.

That is a very nice bag!  I like your tag, too.

Wow - that's fabulous!  I love the fabric and the slanted outside pocket.  Did you make the pattern up yourself?

Very well done.  It looks professionally made.  I love the packet inside.  I wish I would be that talented.  I just tried making a couple of purses out of recycled wool sweaters and I'm stuck with the first one.  I tried putting lining, but it always comes out too small when I sew the outside and inside together.  Any tips?  I feel so frustrated because I tried twice and ruined the fabric for the inside twice.  Luckily I but a remnant on sale at Joan's for $.75, but still......... Love the bag and design. Any chance of a tut? Also, where did you get your labels? The whole thing is just awesome.  Smiley

Yes I need to know where you got your labels too! The bag itself is also fantastic! The size, shape, colors, pockets are all awesome!

that came out very nice. is that a pattern or one you came up with? also, that has a gusset all the way around it, hasn't it?

is this a style you've done before, or is this a first go? I'm taking an informal poll. do you find making bags with gussets painful?

I gave a messenger bag a go over the weekend, and i had to scrap it, or i was going to lose my patience. but your came out so nice, it looks like you have more patience than i do.

well done.
