I am a nut for jazz...so during my jazz class today, I thought of this awesome idea--make a jazz collage with all the jazz greats. It is in black and white, and I plan to do a blue iridescent overlay (it is sort of a polymer type stuff that you can use with pottery). It is sweet. I will try to upload my pictures and post them tomorrow! WOO HOO. I am new at this, so my projects may seem quite juvenile at first.

Updated with links! Smiley The pictures don't do it justice. I tried to take them so they didn't have glare, the first one is just a partial picture of one of the collages. I am thinking of doing this on one my tables. It turned out really well and artsy.

Will it be wall art, or are you putting it on a piece of furniture or something? It would make a neat coffee table.

I am a fellow jazz-lover and I must say your collage is worth applause.. so bravo! I love it! That would be really cool to do to a table top.. and maybe the back of a chair... and a wall... and a dressor... and my body. Just some suggestions.

Thanks. I am working on a tabletop now of jazz greats. I am sorry I didn't see the previous post earlier asking for some suggestions on people to look for. Here are some that I particularly like:

Ella Fitzgerald
Miles Davis
John Coltrane
Dave Brubeck
Charlie Parker
Charlie Christiansen
Louis Armstrong
Wynton Marsalis
Dizzy Gillespie
Ahmad Jahmal
Dexter Gordon
Nina Simone
Sarah Vaughn
Billie Holiday
Artie Shaw
Chick Corea
Bill Evans
Sonny Rollins

(These are popular ones...I could give you the more "underground" jazz artists if you want...but the above is probably enough Wink ).

wow, that's really awesome! i did a box to hold some of my recent magazines sort of like that, except I used pictures of "photo shoots". i looks really cool.  I'm thinking about doing another with the same theme, except to an old truck. Maybe I'll post pictures later!! great job!!

so clear, like the diamond in your ring cut to mirror your intentions, oversized and overwhelmed, the shine of which has caught my eye...
