So this is a Christmas present for my girlfriend. I know it needs something uptop,... but what?  Huh Huh Huh
I was thinking swirly clouds but would that leave too much white?
If I paint the background do i have to get into all the white spots?
Should I college images onto the top ie, a moon or fairy or something?
more water at the bottom??
As you can see I am very confused. Help!!
Front shot (I promise, not best representation of what it looks like in real life)

Details so you get an idea of the color:

EDIT: I've (pretty much) finished it and it's posted here:

Thanks for the suggestions!!

Yeah, it seems to be the perfect place for some text. Smiley Maybe some nice calligraphy or something. It looks amazing, somehow I like the water best. ^^ (Maybe just 'cause it's blue and blue = pretty. Tongue ) Great job!

I like the idea of a message too, how about a memory of something you did together or a wee poem.
It is a beautiful piece of work Cheesy

That's why I love craftster!!  Grin

Those were my thoughts, somehow the ideas seem better coming from awesome craftster chicks. I  think that's what ill go with--song lyrics and a sun in the corner. she is always singing to me and i think lyrics would be awesome. She's also my first girlfriend so we're really cheesy and romantic and disgusting lol.

I also want to paint the backgroung but i think i should have done that first. I think i might ruin it if i try to come back with paint.

Thanks for the compliments, I'm so nervous, I hope she likes it.
Anyone can do it, its soooo easy. Its just scrapbook paper and Elmer's glue. I love it because its so relaxing to sit and work on it.

Don't worry about the paint. I like the white background. I would have said a simple message, maybe even just one word but since she sings to you a lot, lyrics would be perfect.

maybe you can watercolor a background on the white..really diluted though..and definitly put a message in there

thats so awesome i just watched the carol duvall show and she did the same thing with the paper and set them underneath a piece of domed glass and made paperweights

thanks for all of your suggestions. I wanted to add the lyrics so badly but i just couldnt make it work. So i went with the sun instead and a line of a John Keats poem written on the back to her. The line was suggested to me by one of my clients so that makes it extra neat for me, plus it ended up being perfect because as corny as i am, every single thing about being with her has been beautiful, especially her.

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness
