i decided a couple weeks ago to learn how to crochet.  so i did, hooray!!  this is what i produced...

as you can tell, it has the tell-tale signs of a new crochet-er (uneven width), so i decided to distract viewers by sewing a felt kitty face on it.

Good for you: learning to crochet. I hope the cuteness of your finished scarf/cat inspires some of the others who are on the brink of learning to take the plunge.

Apparently, you can solve the uneven width problem by crocheting the long way and putting fringe on the ends.  I've only heard about this, but I am intrigued...

Or since I've been crocheting for years and I still have the same problem if I try to do one the short way LMAO try an afghan hook ( that thingy that looks like a knitting needle with a crochet hook at the end...) that's How I do mind that I want to do the short way plus it gives you nice little squares you can use to sew or whatever you want lol I used to do scarves and sew words on them and wear them to school only to have my friends beg for them.....

Grin And I'm just too nice so I always gave them away....

Not only is it stunningly cute, but putting a cat face on the end makes it look like you intended it to widen in a subtle way.

Congrats! Its absolutely adorable.
