Well my husband turned 30 a few weeks ago & he absolutely LOVES monkeys so after some brainstorming with 2 of my friends, we came up with the idea to throw him a Jungle Party. We had lots of great ideas and I wanted to share them in case anybody needed any inspiration. : )
IDEAS:
1.
the Monkey Cake. My friend Tish gets all the credit for this one. She's fabulous, escecially when it comes to cakes. I just gave her the monkey idea & she ran with it. She even went into as much detail as to putting some "poo" in the monkey's hand to fling at people. ha*ha. My husband wanted a strawberry cake so she made the Monkey out of Strawberry cake & the rest is chocolate with a strawberry filling.

2.
Monkey Cupcakes. I actually got this idea by searching the web.

This was our version of them. I used a great recipe i found here as well. The came out REALLY yummy! VERY buttery but very good.
http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=content&id=recipe3540138&layout=martha3. We like to have some sort of "photo op" spot at our parties so we made
3 monkey cut outs & had a sign that said "we saw, heard, & spoke no evil at gary's 30th birthday". Everyone got a chance to pose with the birthday boy then, there was a craft station with foam monkey frames (

We used a mini photo printer & our digi cameras to take the pics.

This is the "craft station":

4.
Name TagsI got name tags and jungle-y stickers and people made their own tags for their cups.
5.
DrinksI made Jungle-y drinks like "hawaiian punch" & brass monkeys and "tipsy island".
6. i put out
animal crackers but i found that adults don't like those so much. i'm sure it would be a big hit with kids though!
7.
LOTS of Monkey decorations. I found most stuff on OrientalTrading.com, the $ store, & party city. We made some stuff too.

and here are my wonderful friends that helped me out so much! i love them both. : )
