I want to knit up these puppies, does anyone have suggestions for yarn substitutions, something acrylic or an acrylic blend maybe?  I'm looking to do them a little bit cheaper.  Plus I have a bunch of yarn that I just got for my birthday and I want to know if I can use any of it for this pair.

I made some out of a worsted weight wool that I hand dyed.  And I have some SWS waiting for me to finish my Christmas Presents!  I think as long as you get the correct gauge, any yarn would work!

A Flute with no holes is not a Flute.  A Donut with no holes is a Danish.

I think you can use pretty much any worsted weight yarn for these.  I have been knitting them up like crazy.  I have used the New England Highland Wool and Cascade Cloud 9 for them.  They've all turned out fine.  good luck!
