My friends and I are planning a formal black and white party for Christmas this year.

We need help with centerpiece ideas/ (light)food ideas and just overall decorating.

We're trying to keep with the theme, even with most of hte food, but I suppose a bit of color won't kill anyone if you have a good idea.

Possible centerpiece: arrangement of white roses with the tips dipped in black paint.

Food: White cheese fondue?
Dark/white chocolate fountain..or just pre-dipped stuff.
Cucumber sandwiches on white bread?

Help!

For the centerpieces what about spray painting branches white (free except for the paint) and placing them in black vases (which again you could buy at Goodwill and spraypaint black).

Another white food is jicama (sp?).

I actually had that idea for the branches (I think I saw it on craftster somewher), but the other girl who is doing most of the planning liked the roses more...boo. I was gonna see if anyone had any different ideas.

Thanks guys! Keep 'em coming!

as far as food goes you could always do white cakes, maybe with like black polka dots or something, o and you could do some 'tuxedo' type strawberries, strawberries dipped in white and dark chocolate

if you want a little bit of color you could always do red roses and dip them in white and black paint to mix it up a bit,

o and you could tell you guest to dress in black or white

Thanks guys, we had the party and it was lots of fun.

Yeah popart, there was a dresscode Smiley Everyone was required to be in black and white.

It was pretty simple, but good and everyone enjoyed it.

Oreos! Erm, vanilla cake w/ vanilla frosting and licorice on top? Layered plain and dark chocolate cheesecake. Rice is white, it's kind of boring though. My mom makes this amazing white chicken chili, I could get the recipe from her if you want.
