Anyone looking to make a last minute advent calendar can throw this one together, especially if you have kids! I first saw the idea in a Mary Engelbreit magazine years ago, but several versions are floating around the web. Here are a few links to show the finished product....

I decided to make one to send to my nephews in the states, but with clothespins instead of the tags. These are just card stock: cut into circles, glue on a green glitter edge, number with scrapbooking stickers, glue to clothespin, tie on a bow. Easy! You could just number the clothespins if you are more concerned with time than aesthetics!

I sent along sparkly star garland to hang it, but you can use anything you have at home: ribbon, yarn, whatever! Then clip a kiddie sock to each pin and add a surprise inside. I sent a mix of things because I didn't want to send too many sweets! Games, puzzles, matchbox cars...

Anything that is too big for a kiddie sock has a number. Inside the sock is a note with that number and a hint about where to find it in the house. That way it's a little scavenger hunt, too!
Once my sister has it set up and sends me a picture, I'll post the results. I think it's a really fun idea for kids, I hope my nephews do, too!

Haha! You aren't! I thought of making one for my bf with big boy socks and sexy little surprises like massage oil, etc. Not enough time though!
