Let's face it.... men are sometimes hard to buy for.  Here's one idea for you if you like to make my own gifts.

Any artist/crafter will tell you that you utilize what is around you.  Seeing as how I've spent the last 3 years of my life working in an art and framing store... that is where you'll find my materials.

I have made quite a few books in different styles.  This book in particular, I made for my boyfriend to put all of his 4 wheel driving pix in.

The covers I have constructed out of pk5 (illustration board) and faux suede matboards in beige and black.  Linen tape is used to make hinges beneath the suede.

Rubber cement is used to adhere the cover, it rubs off paper without a trace and forms a terrific bond when applied to both sides of what you're glueing.

On the inside I have bone folded strathmore paper for the pages and chicago posts to bind.  A fold over method is used for the pages if you plan on putting photographs in, that way your book won't look like a giant 'V'!

The outer embellishments are all white fimo that I have painted to look like dirt and rocks with acrylic paint and then fixed with crystal clear spray.
