Knitting with Balls

More towards teaching men to knit but all the projects are either for men, or for men to make for their sweethearts! Very good book and fairly inexpensive Cheesy I bought it for myself as an early christmas present Cheesy
             Hope I helped

Well I disagree with some of the posts above. My husband would not even look at hand-knit socks. They MUST be white and of his favorite brand with a shirred top [?? elastic]. So assuming MOST guys like hand-knit socks would be wrong [can't remember any of my exes/friends' husbands getting excited over such a thing or requesting anything like that from their knitting GFs].

I would go with an iPod cozy [electronics are always good, right?] or like the articles says - nothing at all... Embarrassed

*personal swap, anyone? I sew, knit and crochet*

I've made a couple of hats for the men in my family and tested them all out on my husband, and he loves the "hot head" pattern from the first stitch and bitch book best (very basic 2X2 rib). I just finished one yesterday in black with orange stripes for a Cincinnati Bengals fan and I'm loving it.

Also, I made fingerless mitts for my Dad for Christmas (using the pattern in Weekend Knitting) and am having a hard time not stealing them, but I haven't gotten his official opinion yet.

The SnB hot head pattern has generally gone over well with the dudes I knit for. I also just made the gloves from weekend knitting for my BF. It really depends on the guy.

My hubby asked for a scarf, hat and glittens. He helped me pick out the yarn and I even got him to knit a few stitches on the scarf. He also wants me to knit a fair isle sweater (that's not happening). I really want to make him a pair of socks, but he says he'll wear them out.  Right now, I have enough things to knit so I'm not going to convince him that it's okay....yet.

I've made slippers for my boyfriend.  He requested monster slippers from Stich'n Bitch Nation, red ones, so I obliged.  I haven't given them to him yet, though.  They're his Christmas gift.

Yes, I know, men who wear monster slippers are few and far between, but you can have some luck with more simple slippers, maybe even felted booties.

Jamais sans mes ciseaux.

oh yeah slippers! My boyfriend asked for both slipper socks and monster slippers. Both are often used and well loved.

My boyfriend asked for a hat and a scarf, and luckily he isn't too picky - everything doesn't have to be brown, black, or navy, you know?  He would probably wear handknit socks, but I won't make them for him because he wears out his normal socks so quickly.

He's also expressed a desire for a pair of gloves.  No way would he wear a sweater, and no way would I knit one that large!

I'm making cabled scarves from the One Skein book for my dad and boyfriend. My brother isn't much of a scarf guy, but he mentioned needing some oven mitts (he cooks a lot), so I'm going to make him some felted oven mitts.
