I would love to see a "little black dress" challenge, as it's an item we all wear at one time or another.  Any fabric, new or used/reconstructed, any sleeve/neckline or length, adult/child/doll sized.  The possibilities are endless!

I think a specific theme/style (or the inspiration idea is cool) - but maybe one that can range in difficulty? 'cause if you picked a theme that's difficult, beginners are going to have trouble, and if you pick one that's too simple it's probably going to be boring for more experienced sewers, you know?

That said, I like the idea of a seasonal item. A spring dress, or a winter coat, I don't know. But you could see everyone's take on a couple of keywords, and it'd be kind of cool.

I love the lingerie idea... or pajamas.
I could use an excuse to make some pretty little things!

Hmm... how about find a vintage pattern and make it??  There could be themes like "fashion is cyclic" ... or targeting a specific era ... or you use a modern pattern that has a lot of vintage inspiration??

Other ideas ... embellishing a camisole or twin-set pattern with lace, ribbon, beads, etc... even dying, ageing and destroying.  ?? Or a bustier ??

Personally, I like a jacket competition, also.

(Sorry if I repeated anything.. i didn't read the whole thread ... I'm lazy  Tongue )

Another option might be to use the same pattern (or clothing tutorial, if that was ok with the person who made it) and see who can come up with the most interesting variation.

It does sound interesting-- I've never done a challenge on here and I'm always up for new clothes!

I would so be into this, I guess it might depend on what the challenge is but I would love to join if we ever get this organized.
