Congrats tomated - you worked hard and look where it got you!

As for my store, I've sold a few things in the last couple of weeks, yay! I've just listed some necklaces that are of a style different to what I previously list on etsy, they've had good feedback and a heart but unfortunately, i think the shipping will put people off - anything that's not super thin is $8.75 to send overseas!! I've got some slightly thinner ones to list, hopefully they'll be thin enough with bubblewrap to fit in the $3.85 category.

woohoo! I sold my first item tonight... I had a snarl with the payment though, completely on my end due to a a typo in my e-mail address on etsy that linked to my paypal account. Luckily I was able to convo the seller, and she was so wonderful about resolving it. I am sending her a little extra something to make up for it!

It is a little funny now, I was all ecited to see I got a sale, then my face fell when I realized what happened with my e-mail and paypal! Now that it's resolved I feel okay again... a little anxious though too! I hope the buyer likes the item.

This makes me wonder, did anyone else ever worry about what the buyer would think of their product?? I know I do my best with craft and everything, but part of me can't help but worry buyers will somehow think the quality is horrible or something!

Congrats on your first sale!
And yes, I worry too.

OK, some of you have seen the news on the etsy blog
and i thank you for all your kind words  Smiley

but i just have to share the complete story anyway  Grin

I am happy to tell you that my button earrings

have been chosen in the first group of jewelry selections for 1000 Jewelry Designs (working title), a book by Sandra Salamony and published by Rockport Publishers / Quarry Books.
This first batch is to make the "dummy," the 16 page printed piece that is used as a sales tool for the book!
The jewelry will also be featured in the book, with a link to my etsy shop!
Its also possible that other pieces of my jewelry will make the final cut!
It's going to be a really beautiful book, I'm excited by how it's shaping up.
I will retain the rights to my pieces, of course, and be publicised widely, linking credits and all!
I'm sooo pumped about this!
Thanks for letting me share!

WOW... congrats Tomate... looks like all your hard work and great designs are finally paying off. Good luck with it, you've been working hard and definitely deserve this break.

Congrats Fioretta on your first sale too... feels good eh!

I had the weirdest thing happen to me today... I had someone ask if they could buy something for cheaper Huh They said they were on a budget... I was a little floored.  Would they do that at Walmart or the Mall? Anyhoo, I just replied that I could make a modified bag for them for cheaper, but that I couldn't sell the bag they wanted for that much because of the time and money that went into it.... their reply sounded like they didn't want the bag after all.  Has anyone else had this happen... it totally baffles me.

Nessagurl, that has happened to me too. It's a very strange behavior (as far as I am concerned) and I have read in the forums that it's happened to others. I think it's a little rude, so I wonder why that happens on Etsy. I wouldn't do that to someone.
