Hey fellow craftsters!  Another chica on here made a dress similar to this.  I made my own and added a few of my own touches!  Hope y'all like it!  Grin

my roomie took this b/c she finally quit laughin at me trying to take a good mirror shot.

close up of the basic bishop sleeve.

oooh lookie!  puffy ruffly shoulders!

Comments?  Criticisms?

This is my first tutorial, so let me know if it needs clarification.  Oh, and I did this assuming that the length of the sleeve was already sewn up

i like it. its really girly and i love love love the shape of it.flattering neckline-and that colour seems to suit you well! how easy was it to make? i was thinking of making something like that for myself actually with shorter sleeves-did it take long?

interested in personal swaps Smiley

Very nice - I like the puffy sleeves and the way they gather at the wrist.

lis enthusiasm - I started it last night at 9 goofed off with my roomie while working on it and stopped at midnight.  This morning I spent about 40 minutes sewing on the neck binding and making the gathers for the bishop sleeves.  I'd say if you concentrated you could polish this dress off in 2 hrs.  I traced a snug fitting shirt for the empire waistlined top.  Guestimated at big baggy sleeves.  The skirt is a simple a-line design.  Easiness - pretty darn easy if you have a basic understanding (and I mean very basic) of sewing and material.

If you make one, please post!  Cheesy

Its a really cute dress but I would have rolled the hem under for the balloon skirt look.

I love dresses and puffy sleeves, so a dress WITH puffy sleeves pretty much rocks!  What is the true color?  Grey, yes?

balloon skirts don't flatter my muscular thighs.  some of my friends can rock that look, but sadly I can not.

The true color is a dark grey.  The picture is pretty darn close to the true color.

If anyone is attempting this look and has questions, please ask, I will try to help.  Smiley
