Awwww...so cute.  Great job!  I have to tell myself that people are just not going to act as excited as Craftster Crafters when I give them gifts.  That helps when they don't ooooo and ahhhhhh over my stuff.

And you always have the sympathy of your fellow crafters when your efforts don't get recognized, so that's another consolation.  WE know how hard you worked!!!

Love ya,
RM

Beautiful job, OriginalYouth!  Smiley Your friend is a very lucky person!

Also:
1) For your 1st quilt, the colors I picked are good, cause when you stab yourself with the pins, the blood won't show.
3) Get a book from the libary about machine quilting, don't try to figure it out on your own
6) Spread your fabric out at the store, cause if there is a big flaw in the middle, you will have to alter your design, and you will be ticked.
9) Have something (ice cream, beer, chocolate) on hand for emotional emergencies.
10) Don't make quilts for friends.
1) Good thinking! *note to self, buy blood-red fabric*
3)  Thinking it out on your own shows creativity, independence, and... courage.  Wink
6) ... and then you can yell at them for selling you flawed fabric, and maybe get a reduction on your purchase.
9) *sends virtual beer to OriginalYouth*
10) That's right! Keep the next one for YOU!

 Cheesy

WOW it came out great! I would be so happy with that (if I had a kid).  Sorry she didn't recognize your efforts better...they just don't get it. But you did a great job!

I think I'd like it for a quilt for myself, but for my daughter it might be a little to bold.  Red isnt quite the color you want to go for if you want a calm baby.  Thats why most baby stuff is pastel.  I think the patterns are gorgeous but I'd go with something not so bright.

I love all the bright colors that they are coming out with for the baby things now.  They have linked the contasting colors and patterns with brain stimulation and early mental development...think Baby Einstein.

Besides, during the 'awake' hours, you're usually all over the house...not just in the nursery.  Unless you have your whole house done in pastels, the baby is going to be subjected to all kinds of colors, right?!   Grin

Just thinking outloud...

I think it looks great all done! I definitely understand how you wish that non crafty people would jump for joy when they receive or see something crafted for them. I've gotten that too where people just say thanks and that's it
