i tried out the afghan stitch and liked how it looked using three different colors, so i made myself a wristband (which i don't have any photos of) and loved it... and then i came up with this idea to take it to a new level!  so here's my first watch:

whadya think?

basically, just crochet 4 pieces any way you want - i did afghan stitch, but single crochet would work just as well.  so, the pieces look like this:

i did the middle two, then sewed the watch face in, then crocheted the outside pieces directly onto the middle.  but, you could just make each piece separately, then sew everything together.  last of all, i sewed velcro for the closure.  of course, you could use buttons, snaps, or whatever else you can think of.
