Who says you can't make a silk purse from a sows ear?
I found the yarn & buttons at various thrift stores, and just sort of made it up as I went along.

I'd appreciate any comments-but please be kind as this IS my 1st post since coming out of lurkdom.
I also made a sweater for my dog with some thrift store yarn.

and a smaller version for my BIL's Chi modeled by the nearest like-sized item.http://photobucket.com/albums/h126/yelutci/th_IMG_2733.jpg

I've heard it both ways.

I'm looking to swap some knit &/or crocheted crafts for handmade CP/HP soap.

Your purse is really pretty. Those colors are my favorite right now!
Did you recycle a sweater or just get lucky and find nice yarn at the thrift?
The only bag of yarn I've ever found at a thrift store smelled like the time my son's gerbil died and he didn't realize it for a couple days.
Oh, your doggie sweaters are really cute, too!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm loving aqua blue with brown. I was lucky enough to find several 1/2 used skeins of the good stuff & lots brand new skeins of the acrylic. I do always smell 2nd hand yarn just to be sure it's clean. I have frogged a sweater into a purse & have a number of soon to be frogged sweaters sitting in my closet.

Your purse is beautiful, there really is nothing bad anyone could say about it. I would so sport that purse it's awesome. I need some brown yarn to do something and now that I see the two colors together you inspired me to make something in those two colors, I just don't know what to make yet but thanx anyways for showing the purse with those two colors.

There will always be people who say mean words  because you are different, and sometimes their minds cannot be changed. There are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. THOSE are the people whose WORDS truly matter.

Great job - on the purse and sweaters! Isn't it fun to be able to make something you love so much from thrift store purchases? Fabulous!

Yeah for thrift store yarn!  I am usually pretty lucky and have found some amazing yarns.  I love the color combo, it looks almost turquoise.  Nice!

That looks sooo nice! Did you line it? I'd like to make a bag, but I'm too lazy/bad at sewing to want to line it.
