I attempted it, but when i took the headphones apart (disconnecting the wires) I couldn't get them back together Tongue Mabey it was the type of headphones that I was using, or mabey I am just really bad at putting things back together. So it remains sitting on my dresser.

I was curious about the sound quality.  Could you line the back of the tins with another playing card or very thin piece of wood to minimize the tinny sound?  Lots of quality speakers (and musical instruments) are made of wood, so maybe that would help.

Need to try this when I'm done moving into the new house.

not quite along the same vein, but....
a friend of mine got an ipod, but doesn't want to use the "I'VE GOT AND IPOD EVERYBODY SEE" white headphones.  i said, heh, give them to me & i'll use 'em with my walkman & people will think i've got an ipod.  he then told me that people are taking walkmans just like my orange sports walkman, gutting them, & using them as ipod cases!

have any of you seen this?

i was wondering why everyone was making neat little ipod cozies, then my boyfriend got one & carried it in his pocket & it got scratched up.  i think i'm going to have to make one now myself!  i'd do the walkman thing, but my walkman still works & i don't think i'm electronically handy enough for those speakers.  readymade makes it all seem so easy until you try to do it!
