Hi there!

I am always looking for Long Island crafters and DIYers to feature on my blog called Cheap Thrills on Newsday.com, a major newspaper in LI.

If you have a cool craft or dazzling DIY project, please tell me about it! I'd love to feature you on our blog and will gladly link to your Etsy/Myspace/Meetup site too. Hit me up - corris.little@newsday.com

I get lots of email, but will try to respond as soon as I can. Cheesy

Btw, lemme know if anyone ever forms an official LI craft posse. I love that name and would love to attend one day soon.

A soaper, dog lover, and blogger

Hi all!

I moved to Brooklyn but really I'm still part of the posse. and I started the thread but let it die. Sorry all!

anyway, look here...

and read this...
Dear Artist, Maker, Seller,

I am really excited to be setting up an event at Long Islands Cinema Arts Centre on October 25th to accompany the screening of 'Handmade Nation: The Rise of DIY, Art, Craft, and Design'. The Cinema is located about an hour east of NYC.

The event includes goodie bags for the first 50 folks (looking for donations), skillshares, interactive performance, the micro indie art & craft fair, a printmaking workshop, family friendly make and takes... and the super duper deal-maker is the Filmmaker, Faythe Levine will be in attendance signing the companion book as well.

Vendors/ Makers/ Artists get one or more tables to sell / promote their work.
We are keeping fees low to encourage new, small and tentative makers. The fee
is $25 per 2 ft x 2ft caf table. Makers with bigger space needs can get more tables and larger space for an additional $25.) Advance payment is needed thru Paypal to reserve a spot.

If you would like to be a sponsor or donate items for the goodie bags call me asap!

Hope to see you on the 25th of October!
