Here are my playlists of what I sent to ch-ch-cherrybomb and emapril:

CD 1

1.   The Flaming Lips The Abandoned Hospital Ship
I cheated. This is the first track on Clouds Taste Metallic which is tied with The Soft Bulletin as my favorite Lips album. Wish I couldve seen this song live.
      2.  Gruff Rhys - Rhagluniaeth Ysgafn
Gruff sings for the Super Furry Animals. I love when you can hear the person smiling as they sing.
3.   Broken Social Scene Anthems for a 17 year old Girl Sweet-sounding, I suppose
4.   Manipulator Alligator I Had Something to Tell You My buddy Matthew. I love his voice and this is one of my favorite songs of his.
5.   Nina Simone Love Me or Leave Me The piano solo in this song is absolutely fantastic.
6.   Autolux Turnstile Blues The drumming on this song is phenomenal. Ive seen them twice and developed the hugest crush on Carla. She broke her elbow before they recorded this album and you could never tell.
7.   Neko Case Star Witness This is off her latest album. I love the lyrics.
8.   Bonnie Prince Billy No More Workhorse Blues His voice on this track is creeeeeeeepy. But he seems like a fun guy.
9.   Big Mama Thornton Hound Dog She was the first to record this song and I must say that I like her version better.
10.   Aimee Mann One Not much to say. Aimee rules.
11.   Elvis Costello Radio Sweetheart When I was a DJ, I always wished someone would call up and dedicate this song to me. Never happened. But Im okay with it.
12.   Fugazi Waiting Room First Fugazi song I ever heard and it initiated my long-term obsession with Ian MacKaye.
13.   Johnny Cash Folsom Prison Blues Johnny Cash. 'Nuff said.
14.   Nick Drake Northern Sky I went back and forth on which one of his songs to include (I ended up taking One of These Things First off the other CD because it wouldnt fit). Love him.
15.   The Sheila Divine Hum Holy cow. This is probably an acquired taste band, but I LOVE this song. A local band covered it once at a show and I almost peed myself.
16.   The Yeah Yeah Yeahs Art Star I only own this EP and I wish the rest of their stuff sounded like this.
17.   Yo La Tengo Beanbag Chair Off their new album. It's poppy, I suppose.
18.   Talking Heads Once in a Lifetime Oh, which Talking Heads to pick! This has the one of the goofiest videos Ive ever seen.
19.   MC5 Over and Over I must credit my ex with getting me into the MC5. The guitar solos on this song are incredible.
20.   Feist Gatekeeper I saw her open for Broken Social Scene last Halloween and Ill be damned if not everyone in the venue was in love with her by the end of the night.
21.   John Lennon Mother This song would be a good end-credits song, I think.

CD 2

1.   Ad Astra Per Aspera Opening Renouncements A band from Kansas City. Creepy song for the season. Or at least I thought so when I first heard it a few Halloweens ago.
2.   M83 Unrecorded This album is beautiful. I would recommend listening to it while making a road trip after a snow storm.
3.   Broken Social Scene Ibi Dreams of Pavement (A Better Day) Ummm. A lot of the songs on this album begin to sound similar, but this is the first of the lot.
4.   Django Reinhardt Honeysuckle Rose I love me some Django.
5.   M. Ward Vincent OBrien I looooooooooove his voice.
6.   Golden Shoulders I Will Light You on Fire Super nice guys and a great band. And how can you not like lyrics such as Everyone has a price. Sometimes I have two?
7.   Jeff Buckley Lover, You Shouldve Come Over Swoon. Obsessed with this guy, too. To the disappointment of all of my male friends.
8.   Love Alone Again Or Understated and lovely. RIP Arthur Lee.
9.   Yo La Tengo Autumn Sweater Here they are again! I think this was the first YLT song I heard. If you cant tell by now, I love drums.
10.   Etta James If I Cant Have You I always thought this duet was sweet. And her voice is incredible.
11.   The Gossip Dont Make Waves Holy cow! Speaking of incredible voices. I saw them open for Sleater-Kinney last fall and was absolutely blown away. If you ever get the chance to see them live.
12.   T. Rex 20th Century Boy This song is swagger-inducing.
13.   Wanda Jackson Hot Dog! That Made Him Mad! My good friend introduced me to her while we were doing a Real Women Who Rock radio show (it was in response to the crappy article Rolling Stone does every once in a while). Shes got sass. My friend AND Wanda.
14.   Sleater-Kinney Dig Me Out Sigh. All good things must end.
15.   The Dismemberment Plan Gyroscope The funniest thing ever was seeing this song live and watching everyone try to dance to it. Odd time signatures dont allow for that sort of thing.
16.   Gillian Welch Pass You By Lovely voice.
17.   Regina Spektor The Flowers I just started listening to her. Shes fantastic.
18.   Electric Light Orchestra Mr. Kingdom I wanted to do Mr. Blue Sky, but this song is so pretty. It seems to sound a lot like Across the Universe.
19.   Cat Power Good Woman Another lovely voice. And the lyricswell
20.   Super Furry Animals Receptacle for the Respectable An I finally got over you, you lovely jerk song. Fun, with a kick in the seat.

The frontal lobe is where it's at!

12.   Fugazi – Waiting Room – First Fugazi song I ever heard and it initiated my long-term obsession with Ian MacKaye.

I too have an obsession with Ian MacKaye.    Cheesy

I'm glad you liked it tinfoiltrees.  I made a cd for both you and fishiegopook that were the same and then made you each an individual CD.  As far as the book, it was something I found and it was cracking me up so I thought it would make you laugh too.  By the way, tinfoiltrees, the singer of Life of Agony, Keith Caputo does solo work as well that is quite nice.

Subdefective, I loved my CD, thanks!!

I love lots of the songs on the CD, especcially tracks 5,6,7,9,12,15+16 (sorry it was easier than writing them all out!!)

There were lots of songs I haven't heard before so it was a really good listening experience. Semms like we have a liking for Snow Patrol, I nearly but Chocolate on my CD, instead of Spitting games.

1.Suddenly I see-KT Tunstall
2.Spitting games- Snow Patrol
4.You really got me-The Kinks
5.Taylor-Jack Johnson

Since both of my lovely girls have received I shall post my playlists even though they are long.

Playlist for both fishiegopook and tinfoiltrees

1. They are coming to take me away Napoleon XIV
From the 60s, a really wacky song.  Its used in my DJ intro.
2. The Mob Goes Wild Clutch
Clutch is just amazing and funny
3. Goodbye Sober Day Mr. Bungle
I have frightened many a person in my car with this song, yes fishiegopook, it is crazy circus music
4. The Carpenter and the Dainty Bride Primus
This reminds me of the scene in alice in wonderland where the walrus and the carpenter fool all the oysters and eat them, though it has nothing to do with the song
5. Cherry Cola Eagles of Death Metal
This is just a fun band that has nothing to do with death metal
6. What I See Lacuna Coil
This is one amazing Italian girl
7. Duality Slipknot
This song has so many radio station memories attached to it
8. Dying in Your Arms Trivium
I just think this is really funny that this song is about a bitchy girl who wont let the guy go, but the singer of the band dedicates it to the girls in the audience at every show, Ive met these guys and they are chill.
9. In Effigy Shadows Fall
I dont have the latest album otherwise Id put a cover that they did on this cd, but this song is good as well
10. Moment of Impact Fear Factory
Im meeting them in two days!  One of my favorite bands of all time
By the way, I met them  Shocked  omg it was amazing!
11. Blood and Thunder Mastodon
Best live song by mastodon, its gets the crowd going
12. Cold At the Gates
Just awesome
13. My Negation Dark Tranquility
I think piano and black metal is an amazing combo
14. Pet A Perfect Circle
This song makes me feel safe for some odd reason
15. Change Deftones
Deftones is probably one of the very first bands I started listening to
16. Grave Nodes of Ranvier
I think this song is so pretty, sad but pretty
17. Isolation Years Opeth
A nice light song that is quite beautiful lyrically, its not my favorite opeth song in any way or form, but I dont have much opeth on cd or computer.  I did get to see them at one of their special opeth only shows this past winter so it definitely more than makes up for it
18. Rosenrot Rammstein
The video to this is just weird, but the song is supposed to be pretty, means rose red
19. Tangerine (Alternatre Version) Life of Agony
Once again, not my favorite song, but my second favorite song.  My favorite song is the re-zep to LOAs song weeds.  But this song is quite beautiful in my eyes as well
20. Dead End In Flames
Probably my favorite band at the moment, its so hard to pick just one song.  I like this song because of the female vocalist, she is a pop singer from Sweeden.  She makes the track wonderful.

CD #2 for tinfoiltrees which is punk, music not from her culture and instrumentals like she asked for
1. Whoracle In Flames
2. The Jesters Dance In Flames
3. Pallar Anders Visa In Flames
4. Bister Verklighet At the Gates sorry, i checked later and i switched the track on this  Sad
All the tracks above are wonderful instrumentals from two very good Swedish bands
5. The End of Everything Trivium
I love thing instrumental so much for some reason, I think the piano just kills me everytime
6. Sober Tool
7. Roads Roadrunner United All Star Sessions (vocalist: Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth)
8. Reverie/Harlequin Forest Opeth
Opeth is another Scandinavian wonder.  Either they have short and light songs or long ones that seem like a trip through the musical spectrum.
9. Hargalaten In Flames  -- more of a traditional Swedish feel to this track
10. Wedding Dance (Rail Gaddi) Bend it Like Beckham Soundtrack
A song from one of my favorite movies, I just felt like you needed a little Indian music for flair
11. The Red Flag Suicide Machines  -- great political message
12. Faithless Sick of It All
Another song with a great message and the guys are from jersey and really nice, check out the band Madball as well
13. S.O.S. Mad Caddies   --  an abba cover that makes me laugh
14. Nowhere Fast Link 80
15. Vietnam Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards
16. Blister in the Sun Violent Femmes  -- its just a classic
17. Fraggle Rock Allister    -- who doesnt love fraggle rock?
18. Black Friday Rule Flogging Molly
Just an amazing Irish American punk band, one of my absolute favorites

CD#2 for fishiegopook, I just made her a copy of the Roadrunner United All Star Session 25th anniversary CD because I think it is an absolutely amazing CD.  It is in my top 5 for favorite CDs

1. The Dagger
2. The Enemy
3. Annihilation by the Hands of God
4. In the Fire
5. The End
6. Tired N Lonely
7. Independent Voice of the Voiceless-
8. Dawn of a Golden Age
9. The Rich Man
10. No Way Out
11. Baptized in the Redemption
12. Roads
13. Blood and Flames
14. Constitution Down
15. I Dont Wanna Be a superhero-
16. Army of the Sun
17. No Mas Control
18. Enemy of the State
