Presenting... A Christmas Gnome - my first try at amigurumi - inspired by all the wonderful crocheters on these boards

In my hand

Close up

His body is 4 ply cotton in a beige colour and his hat is a soft unknown yarn in red. I embroidered his eyes and hat, I had trouble trying to put in a mouth (my embroidery skills are lacking), so I left that off.
He is stuffed with polyester fiber-fill and his hat and head are sewn together with embroidery thread
The green thread off the top of the hat is to hang him from the Christmas tree.

I'd love to hear your comments

It did take quite a while to make - not sure exactly how long probably around 2hrs cause i was experimenting.
I didn't write it down so I don't have a pattern. Its pretty basic though.
