Well, it's my very first recon! In fact, it's my first sewing project since I made a potholder in 6th grade home ec. I originally started off using this tutorial: http://static.flickr.com/48/141205078_64c508281e_b.jpg but ended up making a lot of adjustments because of my stupid mistakes and lack of fabric.

You want a picture, you say? Well, here it is. I can't post pictures yet because of my n00bish state, but you can visit the link.

The black tank top is seperate, but the black waistband at the bottom is part of the shirt. It started out as a humungous shirt from a thrift store, and the waistband came from one of those yucky too-wide, too-short shirts my mom got for me in San Fran. Please let me know what you think! I'm kind of scared to wear it to school (apparently being "cool" in Middle School means looking like everyone else) so your input is greatly appreciated. Yes, I'm in middle school. Like you couldn't tell from the non-boobs in the picture. ^_^

Ooo I'm loving this shirt! I really like the waist band at the bottom. What kind of print is on the shirt? Great job!

Thank you! Aren't I sad for posting seconds after you did?

It's got a bunch of Chinese characters on it. It looks way better in real life... maybe I should use a real camera instead of a camera phone?? :]

Promise me, " if i ever let go, just keep holding on.  if i ever shatter, just pick up my pieces and put them back together. "

oh i love that fabric, it's so interesting, gj!

The connotations wearing my nerves thin
Could it be semantics generating the mess we're in?
I understand that language breeds stereotype
But what's the explanation for the malice, for the spite?

I love the shirt. Grin If you like it you should wear it. Plus you get to brag to people that you made that cool shirt yourself.

duct tape is like the force. There's a light side, and a dark side, and it binds the universe together.

Hehe, I think I will wear it. I wore some DIY shoes today, and everyone loved them. I'll probably put them in the Shoes section soon. Thanks for all your encouragement. :DD

I'm pretty much the only one in the school, that I know of. Maybe I'll start a trend...?
