I don't remember our prom themes but we had Mardi Gras, Hollywood, Under the Sea, and Through the Years homecoming themes. The through the years was just a...um..I'm not sure, lol. The gym was decorated with themes form different decades like a 70's corner w/ disco balls, etc.

I think the Mardi Gras was my favorite although Through the Years was kinda fun too.  Smiley

The two proms that I went to themes were Phantom of the Opera and Pirates of the Caribbean. The decorations were really elaborate. For Phantom, we had seperate scenes in different corners of the room: Christine's dressing room, underneath the opera house in the lil boat thing, and the Parisian skyline. For Pirates we actually built a huge boat that you could walk up on for pictures, Isle De Muerta (the treasure cave), the rum beach scene, and the jail scene. It was amazing.

My homecoming this year was themed "Neverland". The decorations they came up with were so cute, definitley the best part of the evening! Our homecoming is held outside in our courtyard every year so they were working with a BIG space.

In the center, on an island with landscaping, they re-created the island that the Lost Boys lived on. I liked this the best! For this you'd just have to watch the movie and brainstorm, brainstorm, brainstorm!

The other really cool thing they had was a MASSIVE pirate ship stage. I have absolutley no idea how they did this, but if you figure out a way-- it's great. This is where the band performed.

The trees were decorated with white lights and those tall bar table like things were scattered about (what is the correct name for these? haha) with white table clothes draped over. Outside in the parking lot in our turn-around they had constructed a massive clock tower using the flag pole (without the flag...) for support.

This is a fun idea if you can swing all the decorations!

um. yeah. okay.

Arabian Nights.. like a Moroccan theme

like a palace or a royal ball. My school did this for a dance and made a pretty sweet paper drawbridge and opened it every time someone came in. I saw the decorations but unfortunately i couldn't go to this one so i dont know about the set.
