My sister has requested I make a costume for her cat, Muffin. She wants her to be a cupcake. (She also has a cat named Goose she has a duck costume for)

She's given me two ideas, and now I'm wondering how the heck to do it. I've never sewed for an animal before...or even very much for people

I'm kind of leaning toward the tutu, as it seems easier. I don't know how I'd turn the pumpkin design into a cupcake.

The headpiece is kind of getting me. I want to be able to make everything pretty cheaply. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

Her awesome paint skills at work:

She thought this could be cute as a cupcake type design:
