As someone else said, New York's fiber fest is coming up.

I want to buy a wheel. At first I was going to buy used, but now I think I'm going to wait and buy new. Used wheels are so popular that they are selling for only $50 bucks cheaper than new wheels.(Or atleast that's what I'm finding)

So, my question is, at the fiber fests are the wheels at a discount or can I get extras with a purchase that I can't get free from a lys?

Thanks

(I didn't want to hijack another post with this question.)

I haven't bought a wheel at a fest, but based on what I saw, some vendors do have show specials.  It seems more common for the special to be adding in extra equipment (more bobbins, lazy kates, etc.) rather than cutting the price.  That said, I think the prices tend to be fairly competitive to what I've seen on the web.  And, remember, you are meeting people in person, so you can always try and negotiate a little bit (although again, they're probably more flexible on throwing in extras than on price).

The best part is that you have many different options, so you can do some test spinning on different wheels, or if you've already decided on one, you can comparison shop between the different booths.

Have fun at Rhinebeck!
