WOW, how shocked I was to see this topic just as I was about to post MY not so average pillowcase skirt.  I had to do similar things to mine (cut it up, sew it back together) because the pillowcase had a huge hole in it.  I will go see if I can get a pic of it to post here.  It doesn't seem justifiable to make a whole new thread for the same idea.   Grin What a strange coincidence.  Great minds think alike, or make really similar mistakes lol.

yes, i only used one pillowcase. and i was trying to use instructions for a 12-gored skirt but for a 6-gore instead without realizing that i had instructions for a 6-gore. it was a longer process than it needed to be, but that's what happens with experiments.

Wow!  That's really cute!  I still have my Little Mermaid sheets/pillowcases from when I was little so I'm think that would make a cute fabric for a shirt or something.  Smiley

I had looked at some pillowcase skirts made here, and really, none had actually seemed cool to me until I saw this one. It's FABULOUS.  I really need need need to know how you did it, please post a tutorial, 'cause I got some cool pillowcases (a flowery and a cabbage patch kids one) and I really wanted to do something cool with them and not mess them up.  Great work!

i did not use a serger, but my overedging foot and i are on very friendly terms.

i promise the tutorial will be up soon! i was trying to do it with the paint program and halfway through the crap illustrations just failed to be as helpful as i need them to be SO i am getting another pillowcase tomorrow and will make a photo tutorial hopefully tomorrow evening.

cross your fingers!
