i made this big tote bag for school out of a bambi record i found at a record store for 1$ awesome!!! i love it!

I sewed clear vinyl around the record sleve halves, (both sides of each) and then sewed each to the sides of the purse, this was very hard because it didnt rotate very well at all around the sewing machine. i also have a piece of mount board sewn inside the bottom for extra support... thanks for the comments!

i saw one of these in a magazine and they had sewn a clear plastic sleeve on the purse and just slid the record  in.  this might be an easier way to do it (and you could change the records according to your mood!)

That is sooo awesome, I love it. It makes me want to go back to the thrift store in my town and look at the records again. But then I remember, it is gone now  Sad

i had the same problem with clear vinyl, so i just stuck some paper on top of it so the vinyl wouldn't come in contact with the presser foot and it worked so much better.
