This is my first, based on a L.C. Tiffany stained glass window. I got the outlining in July and have been out of money ever since- no color for me (at least for awhile!). Fortunately it doesn't look too bad in b&w.

wow, that's amazing. how long did the outline take?
I agree, that is amazing! I can't wait to see it with color (although it looks beautiful in B & W).

Yes, it's really georgeous! It looks great the way it is, but I imagine it will also look wonderful when the colours are filled in.

Each scale is actually two different shades of orange, lighter around the back edge and reddish in the middle.

The picture doesn't do it justice at all.

Beautiful. Just beautiful...

I've wanted a tattoo since I can remember... but I've been thinking seriously about what my first one will be for about 5 years now. I've been sketching away for half a decade trying to get my design just right. I really want a koi fish swimming up my spine.... I love what it symbolizes... I am a person who always overcomes obstacles no matter how big they may seem... I want it to be a reminder... whenever I feel as though it can't be done... this little koi fish will remind me "yes it can"....
I also love the legend... "if a koi fish swims up the stream successfully, it shall turn into a dragon." All of my friends think I'm a geek for wanting a tattoo that deeply and accurately represents my values and feelings... but I don't want to cover myself with meaningless ink. If it's going to be there, it's going to be there for reasons other than mere vanity (although tattoos are ridiculously good looking).

Anyway nice tattoos everyone! I love them all!

Handbags, trinkets, and oddities that truly allow you to march to your own beat.

A place where pets and their owners can march to their own beat!

A place where I vent. Ha!

As ohsweetie said, everything went well. The star at the very top is actually yellow. I am very happy with it. The yellow is not like the old piece but will be worked in with the next section I do (in a few years). There was a little part on my side that hurt like crazy whenever she worked there. And I'm not even nearly as lopsided as I look.

Hey, I figured this is the place to post for tattoo advice! This pic is a Photoshop mock-up of what I want. The symbol is an "Nsoroma," a spiritual symbol from Guyana. My question is, though, would it look too plain as the pic shows, or should I do some kind of adornment on the sides?

PS: Sorry for the "plumber's butt," ha.

Is doing the hokey-pokey and turning yourself around really what it's all about?

I'd say scoot it down a bit so it's in the center of that perfect triangle at the base of your spine. You can always get just it for now and add adornments later.

My website is coming together nicely! Please send me feedback, as I don't know how well it works on systems other than mine.
